I'm starting a 5-part youtube series on how to approach strangers and be able to talk to anyone.

This took me about 9-12 months to master and can now confidently approach someone 80% of the time (yes, there are days and moments where I'll chicken out, save it for another time, etc).

It's a skill that's utterly important and valuable because it transfers to all aspects of life (business networking, social circle development, when starting a new job, etc).

But with the access to dating apps and dozens of women at our fingertips, why would we take the time and effort to develop a skill that requires a lot of bravery?

I've never seen any pickup coach or dating guru talk about approaching the way I do. The most common form of advice is to do day-game cold-approach pickup for 1-3 hours a day.

That's also the most intimidating, nerve-wracking, difficult thing you can do and most people give up before they even begin. It also takes A LOT of time and the learning curve is very, very steep. Not saying it can't be done, but it's just a lot harder for the average guy.

I started my process through baby steps. Then, I started stacking baby steps until finally one day I was able to confidently approach women and talk to anyone. Two years ago I couldn't even make eye contact with a stranger and say hello. I was overly reliant on dating apps. I vowed to myself that I'd never be afraid to talk to a stranger ever again, especially if it's a beautiful woman who I am attracted to.

Five key bullet points covered in today's video:

  1. A lot of guys perceive cold-approach as incredibly intimidating, anxiety-inducing, and give up before they begin. As a result, "normalizing" it in our brains is step #1.
  2. The best way to rewire our brain is to start observing other guys doing it (find one person in your social circle to learn from, or go to a social event purely to observe for approaches)
  3. Dating apps are convenient, but not great if you want to develop top-notch people skills that are applicable to all aspects of life. After a certain point, dating apps can be a place of diminishing returns.
  4. "Don't talk to strangers" was valuable advice that kept us safe as a kid. Unfortunately, it's incredibly detrimental as we enter adulthood. Stellar people skills require you to talk to strangers and be 100% at ease with it. The best wins come from spontaneous cold approaches and saying hello to people around you.
  5. It's normal to talk to strangers and be friendly to everyone around you (in fact, it's WELCOMED). It's more abnormal to not talk to strangers.

Here's the breakdown of the upcoming parts:

  • Part 2: Courtesies and desensitization (technical) -- coming next week
  • Part 3: Becoming more approachable (mindset change)
  • Part 4: Radical honesty // "full permission" communication (mindset change/technical)
  • Part 5: Genuine approaches (completely technical)

After this five-part series, you will have a good understanding of what to do (and what NOT to do) to succeed at cold approach dating. You will rely less on dating apps (which IMO there's a huge over-reliance on it by most guys, and as a result has led to dating apps being a "crutch"). This way of cold approaching will NOT ask you to "spam approach". You will never have to hit the streets in the middle of the day and allocate 2-3 hours purely approaching women you see on the street. This is a lot more practicable and less intimidating, yet just as successful if not more.

Let me know if there's something I missed from today's video OR if there's something you'd like to get addressed in the upcoming videos. If you want to conquer this area of your life, it can 100% be done. So don't let me skip or speed through anything that's important.
