Long story short, moved to a new city 3ish years ago and was a hermit for most of that time. Finally decided that I needed to get my ass up off the couch and go out a few months ago and today I finally managed my first cold approach.

Last few months have been a bit wired, I've had some good interactions with random people but i've always had this sort of mental block that kept me from approaching. It's hard to explain but the best way I can describe it was this deep-rooted fear of approaching, not like approach anxiety because I didn't feel anxious, but something deeper that just told me that it was not OK to do so.

Finally dug down to that mental blocker tonight and kicked it's ass to the curb. The approach went pretty horribly TBH but I really don't give a shit, it accomplished the much bigger task of telling my brain "it's OK to do this".

The sweet part of all of it, I felt virtually no approach anxiety when I actually did it and I felt like I kept it real when I was talking to the girl. This is a major change from when I was approaching before in college. I had massive approach anxiety and always felt like I had to be something or someone when talking to the girl, I used to never feel myself and felt like I had to mask my personality. Tonight was different, I just felt fucking normal, felt myself, felt like I could and should express exactly who I was and nothing more or less.

I felt like a fucking Ferrari being taken out of the barn for the first time in years. Sure I blew the set but who cares, I felt the fucking potential in me that whole set. Once I scrape some of the rust off and get my technique down I'll be good.

Sorry if this is a bit of a ranty post. I just feel like you guys can vibe with what I felt tonight.
