Disclaimer: I'm not sure this fits here. I just sort of felt great and wanted to share. Also, apologies for the Great Wall of Text.

After 3 years since my last date I finally have a one set up.

I have been dealing with a lot of mental issues. Mainly, body image issues, confidence, procrastination and a pretty big and lasting depression, which i'm overcoming on my own.

All these symptoms kind of hit me at the same time when I went to college. I isolated myself and started making excuses for my lonely ass self.

A couple of months ago, i decided to host a dinner with some old high school friends so I could get back in touch with them in a way to become more social. One thing led to another and i decided to host another dinner at my summer house because it's near a town famous for its Carnival. 5 of us hop in my car and go there for a fun men night out.

A couple of years ago I met a girl (A-Girl) there that i'd usually hang out with during summer. She happened to post an Insta story of herself and a couple fem friends.

I hit her up and we decide to meet later at night. When we finally meet, she's with her friends and another group of questionable individuals. We talk for a bit, I introduce my mates, she introduces hers.

Everything is going fine but the music and environment is pretty crap near the bar they're at, so I tell them we're not digging that place and that we're going to the bar next to it that had better music, more space to dance and had better ambience. I poked her to join us and so she does.

Vibes are high and with the help of my friends granpa's homemade Rakia, i'm feeling pretty loose. I decide to just start having fun and just dance my ass off. Well, one of the girl's friends started dancing with me out of no where and we just hit off. She's not the most attractive lady but she's alright and we seemed to have some chemistry.

Well, after a bit I step outside the group to take a breather and ask the girl if she wants to join me. She follows me through the crowd and i grab her hand to guide her. We sit on top of the wall by the beach and just start chatting and kinda snuggling on each other.

I don't think i've ever had an interaction with a gi go this smoothly. I don't know why, but it felt so goddamn easy. I've been single for 4 years. I've been struggling to even meet girls, not to even mention actually having decent conversations, much less having a nice chemistry.

It caught me a bit by surprise and since A-Girl wanted to leave the group of girls went home too.

We had followed each other on instagram just a bit earlier so I had an easy way to contact her.

Over the last couple of days I've been responding to her stories and poking fun here and there. Today I said something really dorky (something rather normal in my regular speech) and she laughed and added a "You're such a dork! I love it". I responded with a "You're pretty alright too, I guess...". To which I got rewarded with a "U guess?" I said a dry "Yep" and she killed it with an "Ok."

Well my trap was set, I let it rest for an hour or so then I write her back with "Right now, it's just a guess, but to be sure, we should go out for dinner, don't you think?".

She quickly replied with a single yeah and i close it out with "Friday, mexican, 20:30?" She responds with a "Oh I love mexican!! Sounds great."

So... I got a date. I don't know if I can keep my "looseness" as far as the date goes. But for now, I've got a date :)
