Context cause context is everything: Around over a year ago I was trying to get with this girl I had a crush/oneitis on (we'll call her Kate) I must add that all the interactions were over social media, not in person (too pussy at the time 🙃). Over time I was given the impression that she wasn't interested in that way, so I just sorta stopped engaging with her, I still followed her and she still followed me on social media, but we never engaged with each other. I must also add that at the time I was in senior year and she was a grade below me (highschool).
Fast forward to a few days ago and something awkward happened, a friend of mine (still in HS) invites me to come hangout at the highschool for the grad prank (a campout on the grass field, they didn't end up doing it) and guess who I see? (Hint it's Kate)
Man alotta weird things were going thru my mind, I just thought "oh how awkward" considering her 2 best friends were with her (I've always had the impression her friends don't like me) Another thought on my mind was "god damn y'all aged like fine wine", her AND her friends looked like the typical highschool Alpha females. while we were hanging out I did my best not to even acknowledge them and only engage with my friend and his people. I would glance over at Kate and her friends occasionally, man... The impression they were giving me was a weird one. On one hand they have the distinct high status, elite, alpha female sounding white girl voice/accent, but the looks they were giving me weren't looks of disapproval, it was as is if everytime I glanced over at them they'd be staring at me (as in not avoiding eye contact) eventually her and her friends went home, as did everyone else.
The day after I posted and instagram photo for validation purposes, and Kate (who never likes my photos) liked it, as did one of her friends who was there. Said friend also added me on snap too. I try not to think much of this, but it seems a bit odd no?
And looking back from a primal point of view, of all the males there (brace yourselves for extreme arrogance) I was the most muscular, I had the deepest voice, and I was also the most social. Is it me overthinking cause I thought Kate was fine as hell? Probably
I also know that it's not uncommon for a man and woman to intially be under the impression that there is a mutual dislike, when in reality they both are interested. And in this case it has been a year since we saw eachother in person so impressions were likely different.
What do y'all think?
