I'm don't have a problem approaching making/keeping conversation, but directing it, and keeping it out of the friendzone is something else :/ Any pointers?

"Nice non-creepy dude" I'm going to say that is your problem, you see in order to seduce you need to escalate and polarize. Read up on DiCarlo Escalation ladder. Being nice non creepy is great but when you act like that you aren't polarizing a girl sexually. She is simply staying neutral or even losing interest. You will creep girls out that's just part of seduction. The more polarizing you are the more people will LOVE you or HATE you.

Your intentions may not be clear either. She might not know if you are interested in her sexually or just as a friend. You need to define what you want from her right from the getgo.

You need to say or do something that indicates that you are interested in a dating/sex relationship. Ask them "are you single"? If so, why? And go from there. Also, you don't need to take a dominant position in the interaction, so lead them from one place to another. For example, say "I'm going to the bar to get a drink" and get them to come. You are now taking the role of the alpha male rather than the gay girlfriend.

You're suppose to make it clear that you want to move things forward. You're probably too afraid to take risks and believe that you're building a ton of rapport. You may be but you aren't taking risks and you're being too friendly. You want to incorporate touch and go for a make out. If it's nightgame then try to spin her and put her arm around your neck. If it doesn't work then back off a bit and then escalate in a different way a couple of minutes later. Always be getting physical.

The best way to make them see you as a sexual partner? Kino. Play with her hands, Grab them and even hold hands. Give her hugs when she says something you like. You dont need to say anything sexual if you are not comfortable. Show leadership by making her follow you to different places. Dont ask her to come with you to x place but tell her to come and dont wait for her answer. If she is still hanging around after this it means she is very interested in you and you can be assured she wont reject your sexual advances. But you have to start those slow. Grab her hand and spin her then tell her she has a nice ass. You can laugh about it if you want, she probably will too. But she will know what the deal is. Then grab her hand again and pull her close to you.

Its only creepy if you are uncomfortable doing it.
