So I'm sure many of you checked out my other thread that I posted a day or two ago. To get the gist of it, I went around opening sets by asking them to give me a Chinese accent. The responses I received led me to believe that I was indeed doing something wrong, and so today and much of yesterday, I contemplated change and wasn't willing to open any sets or be too sociable with the public.
Which then led me back to where too much thinking leads anyone - the PUA belief and value systems as a whole. Personally, I like to be that kind of playful, outside-of-the-box kind of person, and even though every day I might not be asking Asians to stereotype themselves for me, I like to be someone that constantly presses his own social limits and traditional thoughts. After glazing over a ton of PUA books, I realize that this isn't the most effective way of going about things, though.
Yet I can't figure out why. Granted, everyone has their own variation of their own game and what game should and should not be, but why is being bouncy so often frowned upon? For one thing, it would make you stand out from the crowd. Being playful would make you come off as playful, which would in turn generate excitement for yourself and for those around you. It might mean that you'd need to give into some of your emotions a little bit more, such as excitement and happiness, but you can still cut out negative emotions from your game, like frustration.
Maybe I'm just looking too deeply into thinks. After the thread I mentioned, I've been questioning my game in it's entirety. I'd like to refine my own skills but I'm not sure to what extent, which brought me to make this thread. I have two other friends in the PUA community and a bunch examples from the books I've read which have given me an image of a PUA being quiet and reserved, yet tactical and ready to strike at certain times, which I'm sure works, but I can't quite understand why being playful doesn't.
