Yesterday was the second day in a row where I clicked well with a girl but I chickened out of asking her out because there was another person there. I got a huge amount of fear when trying to ask her out simply because we weren't alone, even though there were more than enough signs that she likes me. I regret it a lot.

I remember the time I had a huge amount of fear to ask a girl out when I was alone with a girl. I had thoughts like 'what if she has a boyfriend' or 'I'm gonna see her again and it's going to be super awkward' running through my mind, and not asking these girls out gave me a lot of regret. Now that I have asked out a few girls when we were alone, these thoughts don't bother me anymore: I feel like I can always ask a girl out when we are alone.

So what I'm trying to say with this: the step I had to take to ask a girl out when I was alone with her came with a lot of regret, now I am in the second step where I need to learn how to ask a girl out when there is another person there, this is also coming with a lot of regret (which I'm feeling currently). I guess the third step will be how to ask a girl out in a big group of people (where all eyes are on me) and so on. Is it normal that I will experience a lot of regret in every step? The step after this and the one after that and the one after that, forever until I guess I don't fear anything anymore.

Maybe someone knows more about this? Or maybe an article/book specifically about this.
