Is there a big enough difference between being direct and indirect during a meeting (but you say your intentions before you leave, just not at the start).

Does it make that much of a difference in terms of what that person would think of you? Always been told to be more direct so you aren't deceiving them, but it could be too strong for others to handle, so does that matter enough?
