My girlfriend of three months typically replies to my jokes with “you’re a freak/pedo/gay cunt/weird”.

What are your jokes? Give a few examples.
Also, you posted about how you're basically trying too hard with your jokes, in your other post. So you can probably cut it out with the jokes. Insecurity isn't a good look.
If she's not serious and plays along with your jokes, then her comments are teasing. Which is harmless, not some test.
However, you've made it clear in your other post that your attempts to be humorous often crash and burn awkwardly. So her comments might be a veiled attempt to express displeasure at ill-timed or poorly constructed jokes.

Sometimes a girl says and does things on purpose to see how the guy reacts.

But most of the time she says and does things, the guy reacts, and she takes note.

If she does this often, she's not testing you consciously - but in the grand scheme of things, it's a test.

What's the best way to handle something that you feel is disrespectful from someone you want to keep around?

If she was just some random, you could drop her, you could bark on her.

But if you want her, how do you correct her?
