I'm doing this right now with a girl I had a huge crush on in high school but never talked to. We're "catching up" though because she definitely remembered me, we were on the same bus and stuff, plus my crush was really obnoxious along about 8th grade and a kid told her in front of me... it was pretty humiliating at the time lol. She also checked me out at the bar a bunch. I chickened out then but I'm not gonna now.

Basically the way it started was she sent me a friend request. She'd checked out my OKC profile like a week before as well. So I just went for it, I was like "hey we always saw each other at the bar but I never got a chance to talk to you. Now that we've stalked each other on OKC too, I thought I'd say hi to my first crush. Sooooo, hi!"

Turns out she didn't even know it was me at the bar. But she was totally checking me out. Things are going well so far we've messaged back and forth a few times and it's starting to look like we have a lot in common. I like where it's going.

Just ask them. No need to worry about wording it right or wrong. "Hey, I just got back in town after graduation and I haven't seen you in a long time. I'm going to grab coffee sometime today just for an hour or so, you should come join me so we can catch up."

That's pretty much what I resort to.
