So its hot as shit in my room and I'm just sitting here thinking so i figured I might as well post to reddit.

I met these two girls at a beach event. We talked for a bit and they seemed really cool and were definitely being flirty. I got both of their numbers under the pretext that they were looking for roommates (they were "leaving" so there wasn't much time)

I'm dumb and one had huge boobs and was pretty cute. The other, I though was alright and taller than me, which is tall for a girl and i felt kind of neutral about her.

A day later I asked the boobs girl (whatever) if she wanted to get a beer. There were maybe four lines of text to this whole conversation, but she agreed. I texted the other one casually and had an actual conversation with her. It turns out we have a friend in common.

I'll skip boring details, but the one girl flaked on me twice, even going as far to note that she "wasnt looking for anything serious," which is kind of insane, given that this was apparently an excuse after she "forgot" our date.

The other girl has been trying to meet up with me for a while, and I've been nonchalantly texting her.

Now, while I thought I was just an awesome smooth talker, it turns out that these girls were asking my friend about me before I even saw them.

For me, there are two potential revelations here.

  1. Holy shit, women actually coordinate themselves so that they can strategically meet men they like

  2. Sometimes, you can actually build attraction through text, and not giving a shit can do a lot for you.

Ive been on tinder a bit as well. There seems to be a period of very casual conversation (longer than I would expect) that makes it much less likely that the other person will flake.

I think its very important to "feel out a conversation." If your sense of humor, tone, whatever isnt coming through via text, keep it to logistics. If it is, then keep going (but dont be too invested)

I'm kind of curious as to whether I could still open up with the first girl, but i'm not sure what kind of person "forgets" dates
