I'm 18 years old from Riga, Latvia.

Was walking with 2 of my friends when I noticed a cute girl just sitting there and they encouraged me to go for it (I kinda wanted to do this cold approach thing alone, but since it was my first try I figured it could be fun to bring 2 of my friends as well just to see how it goes. I think I would have done a lot better if they weren't there, felt like they only added pressure).

Now, about the approach, it went something like this

  • Me : Hey, I saw you sitting there and I couldn't pass you by since I thought you looked really good, and I just wanted to say that.

  • Her : Aww, thanks (smiling)

  • Me : Why are you sitting here alone looking at your phone?

  • Her : I'm charging my phone so I can listen to music when I drive home via the bus.

  • Me : Oh, I see. What are you listening to?

  • Her : Suicideboys, blah blah blah.

  • Me : Oh, Suicideboys? Did you go to their concert recently (they were in our country like 3 months ago)

  • Her : No, I think I had to work the next day so I couldn't.

  • Me : [Told her that my friends where at the concert and it was a huge mosh pit and crazy fun etc]

  • Her : [Average excited answer]

  • Me : Alright, where do you work?

  • Her : [tells her where she works] + she is babysitting a 4 year old as well.

  • Me : [Asking about whether she works in a near place relevant to her job, she says somewhere else though), I tell her my side of the story with babysitting.

  • Her : seemed interested and gave a bit more info about that.

  • Me : Alright, I actually need to go now and see some of my friend. I was wondering if you maybe wanted to drink (yeah -.-), or maybe go somewhere out to eat?

  • Her : Oh, I'm really sorry, but I have a boyfriend.

  • Me : Are you going to marry him?

  • Her : No, haha, probably not, it's been kinda iffy with him for the past month or so.

  • Me : I see, well, maybe that's why you need a new adventure.

  • Her : Eh, ~maybe.

  • Me : So that's a no, I pressume then?

  • Her : Maybe as friends?

  • Me : No, definitely not as friends. Unless in your definition of "Friends" you roll around with them in the bed. (Pretty sure I didn't deliver this as good as I hoped for)

  • Her : [still smiling], [laughing a bit but seemed a bit confused as well]

  • Me : Well, alright. It was nice talking to you.

  • Her : Yeah, you too!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that was about it.

Things I noted :

  • I forgot to properly introduce myself and ask her name. If I had gotten her number, then I'd ask it officialy since I fucked it up at the start. (Maybe I'd have forgotten it as well though)

  • She was smiling throughout the convo.

  • I was a bit nervous, but not as nervous as I thought I would be. That said, I bet she could feel it a small bit, even though It wasn't horrendous.

  • I kept consistent eye contact with her and was also smiling throughout the convo.

  • Felt like I could have continued the Convo a little bit more, but kinda ran out of things to talk about and didn't want to let the awkwardness begin.

  • I felt a bit "weak" after the convo had ended, like some butterflies just sat down in my legs, but not too much.

  • Feels like I need to do this on my own, less pressure.

But yeah, that was my first realy cold approach at about 9 PM on the street.

Any thoughts on what I should be doing better? Like, I feel like I just need to get more experience and put myself out there in the cold approach, but yeah.
