I've been experiencing huge strides with women lately. I now have an emotionally and sexually fulfilling commitment-free relationship with this girl that I had been pursuing.
This is mostly thanks to my friend, whose advice usually boiled down to "Just do it" whenever I'd ask him for advice. My first problem was that I brought her back to my place from the library and hooked up (no sex) with her and I wanted more but conventional seduction said be aloof and have her come to you. I did not contact her and was cold for weeks but I hated it. One Sunday evening at the pool, he advised me to just call her then and there and ask her out on a date and after spewing a whiny litany of excuses, I did it on complete impulse and it worked. His serene "Just go for it" advice always worked, because by making my desires known to her without neediness, I was able to secure a date with her and am now commitment-free dating her. On the other hand, AskSeddit's advice was always "Leave her alone. Let her come to you." That did not work at all and led to me agonizing over wanting to see her. Truth is, I had to chase her a bit because that's what she wanted; she was not initially willing to start things the first few times. In fact, after having sex with her, I told her that when I would see her in public, I would get nervous and that the few weeks in between when I first hooked up with her and when I asked her on a date I agonized over wanting to see her again, and she responded by saying that the reason she was aloof towards me and did not approach me was because she thought that after the initial hook up, I was done with her and that I was uninterested. So she wanted me to chase her a bit. And I did so. Non-needily.
This is important because before, I've only had relations with girls I was uninterested in, but engaged in anyway because of the belief that I had to take what I could get. But I've changed. The day before the date with the aforementioned girl, not only did I bring back to my room a girl that I regularly had sex with last semester, but right before we engaged in the act, I stopped. I realized that I was progressing and escalating to sex with her not because I wanted to but because it was sex. I denied her sex and we just had an awesome conversation and hung out instead.
Another great change I've noticed in myself is that my misogynistic tendencies are, as far as I can tell, completely gone. I no longer judge the women I sleep with or engage in. I see things from women's perspectives, especially since I've made more friends with gay dudes who hit on me all of the time. Seriously, gay dudes, beyond being awesome people who I hang out with, also serve as a pretty nice litmus test as to how attractive my behavior is since I'm not attracted to them and therefore am not actively gaming them.
Also, last week, I had my first ever SNL at a neighboring college party. I seriously just decided, in my head, before the night started out, that I was not going to make getting laid an objective, and instead decided to go for having my unique, seditious brand of fun, namely being weird and messing with people in a benign way at parties. This can take the form of me writing non-sequiturs in random places (for example, I wrote "All truths are relative" in a notebook on the coffee table which was apparently used for keeping score for darts). As a result, I got laid, and it was the best sex of my life, ever, with a gorgeous and very interesting girl. Not only that, it was the only satisfying sex I've ever had. I felt like I was a fucking porn star that night. I didn't write an [FR] because I didn't really feel like it, but maybe I should.
the point of all this anyway, I'm rambling a bit and should probably cut to the chase. I want this momentum to carry with me and these past months of learning and internalizing the self-liberating principles of seduction to stay. I've changed so much and for the better over the course of this past semester, which was marked 1/3rd of the way through with me getting back into seduction. Not only is my love life better, but I've been taking more risks and arbitrarily throwing myself at opportunities. I auditioned for an improv troupe, presented my essay from last semester at a government and politics undergraduate research conference, and I auditioned for a month long stand up workshop next year that I not only got onto, but the director also put me on the sketch writing and sketch performance team, which I didn't even try out for.
However, I'll notice myself trying to consciously game girls at certain times even though I pretty much consider myself having broken through the AFC membrane. I can actually notice when other dudes are exhibiting hardcore AFC behavior or even subtle AFC behavior, shit that I didn't notice before I gained this amazing confidence with women. It's actually gotten thrilling for me to talk to people at parties or in public without first-and-foremost assessing whether or not I'd fuck them, and then having a conversation. I've actually become pretty popular at my college since I don't really expect anything from the girls I talk to as opposed to many of the "cool guys" who try to sequester sex, sometimes with coercion, and occasionally succeed because they're trendy and good-looking and some people, unfortunately, lack self-esteem.
Anyway, I guess the point of this post wasn't to contribute or ask anything, but to just express how awesome I'm feeling. I've shed many of the things that hindered me in the past from getting what I've always wanted: a girlfriend who I am attracted to and the ability to woo girls over. I now know that by not actively seeking it, I'm way more bound to have it. I am humbled and happy.
Also, read up on Mark Manson who talks about how the two transcendent factors that determine "manhood" across all cultures according to Fruedians are (a) an emotional severance/autonomy from their mothers (and consequently all other women, as men who haven't done so tend to project other women with a matronly archetype) and (b) validation from other men, which I have but don't really care about because truth be told, I don't really like most other straight men at my school. I'm going to be honest. They're all very concerned about not appearing "gay" or "weird" and it really, really keeps them from being fun to hang out with.
tl;dr I feel like I've exited AFC-land and am making the journey towards being a self-fulfilled person. Although sometimes and for short periods of time, I notice tiny relapses, overall I've made significant advances in my life, including how I view myself. I've started investing in myself in ways other than just working out and have been taking chances with girls and etc. I feel awesome and seldom desperate or needy.
