Because somebody came along who was taller and/or more handsome than you. Women never choose to go single because their current prospect isn’t good enough on second thought and wait - there is always someone else.

It is almost because you either didn't come across as a an alpha during the approach or because you showed them you were an excuser by texting too much.

This was after a while of having short conversations. She's a girl at work but doesn't work in the same area. She even suggested doing something that i happen to do regularly on my own. (Maybe I should post the whole story🤷♂️🤷♂️)
