M19 What are some good ways to diffuse tension when approach gets uncomfortable

Hey guys, over the past week I did about 6 approaches. So far, I've had about %50 success rate. At least I've had some success, but I haven't nailed an approach yet and I feel like I have a lot of room for improvement.

FYI I use the How to Beast approach (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImnSsLuytSw).

One of the biggest oppositions I face is when I tell a girl she's cute only once has she not been surprised and made a little uncomfortable and that one time the girl happened to be older like 28. The last approach I did (which I fucked up), I thought after telling the girl she's cute then responding to her surprise and discomfort by saying "What? You don't get that all the time?" would be a good idea. I hoped she would say yes or no, but I got a "kind of" I didn't know what she meant at the time, so I moved on to another question. I think younger girls who haven't been approached as much are more likely surprised. I've also noticed the part of town this city university I've done approaches at is particularly bitchy and distrusting, so it's been my hardest spot.

How do you guys ease the girl's discomfort and surprise?

So I learned this from RSD Todd when I took his program, and realized it recently in the field: what works on a 7-attractiveness girl won't work on a 9-attractiveness girl. I noticed this in the club when we would approach a group of models. My wingmen would get blown out of the sets on the open itself and struggle to keep it going while I was the only one having a good set. For girls that are model type attractive, they know they are attractive and they assume that if you're talking to them you're interested in them. If you compliment them or neg them you're automatically put into the "loser tryhard box" so you literally need to just socially vibe with them without outcome dependence for 10 - 20 minutes and you're golden.

But to be specific about college day game, my fwb in NYC is a college sorority girl that gets approached a lot. She told me her "theory" on how there are dominant guys and submissive guys. Submissive guys will approach her and tell her she's attractive and then act like now she owes them something and need her. Dominant guys (like how I approached her apparently) are guys that aren't asking anything from her and who are already cool and make her want to hang out with them. Thought it was interesting look into the mind of a girl like that.

But why only 19 sets man? By 50% success rate you mean number closing? I've been doing 15-25 approaches a night and within my first week I got my approaches to number close 100% of the time. If you increase your volume of approaches its crazy how much quicker you can get better.

Thanks for the info! I don't know all the terminology, I'm assuming a set is what you say on an approach. This has got me thinking about using different approach techniques, which honestly makes me a bit more nervous, because my last approach from yesterday I tried to on the fly alter what I usually do and I was tripping on my words and repeating questions.

Also, what I mean by M19 is that I'm a male and 19 years old, so college campuses are a good option, because there are people around my age and I can't go to bars. Guys around my age usually have a really hard time talking to girls without alcohol or through social media, so I can see how an approach from me would be surprising since I don't use either.

So your advice about how not to surprise them is to not tell them I thought they were cute at the beginning and instead try to engage them and make a connection beforehand? Should I tell them they are cute at all if I'm able to connect? I'm also just stopping people on the street or like girls sitting by themselves studying, so I can't talk for 10 min it's more like 1 min max.

50% of the time I've been able to get a number, so I've collected 3 so far, and on one of them I did a pretty bad job. 15-25 is a lot of approaches for one day. Yeah tho, keeping at it and doing more would help me improve. It's a bit hard to do that many, because the amount of girls walking around on their own isn't that high. It takes a long time and I can't/don't want to spend a whole day doing approaches.
