Hey! Me and a friend of mine started hanging out about a year ago through our quiz team. We've known each other for some time before that, but weren't particularly close.

Over the last year we've become more close and I've signaled that I'm interested, however she friendzoned me. I still liked hanging out with her so I put a lid on my attraction and settled for having chemistry.

However last weekend she asked me if I wanted to hang out, she was up for anything, we ended up at her place with some sushi and wine.

I went in with a platonic mindset that we were just going to chill, but she quickly opened up with that she just had broken off her thing with a guy she had been dating for 4 months. We later went on to discuss our sex lives, and what my relationship plans would like in a year (I'm moving abroad), and if I met someone amazing if there was a chance I would stay. I gave her a flat no, as I'm really motivated to leave. I was really hungover and my mindset was in the wrong place, so I did not pick up on her signals... I've been bashing my head ever since.

However I don't think the window has closed, I've been helping her planning her birthday party in one and a half weeks and she was really adamant about me staying as long as possible during the party.

We are meeting for our regular quiz a few days before the party.

My question to the council is: how do I proceed from here? Should I try to invite her out this weekend (one week before her birthday)? Not for like a full on date, but a hangout where I signal that I'm interested. I feel that the ball is in my court.
