Came here to talk about my approach today which actually has some good takeaways. I'm 18 yrs old.

Technically this was my second approach, but it still sucked balls.

So firstly.. I'm an attractive guy. I'm not trying to brag, but I do get plenty of eye contact and whispers from groups of girls when I'm walking about. When I'm looking my best I would rate myself a 7 or 8/10, and also I have interesting style (hipster/punk sort of fashion) which a lot of girls dig from me and it makes me stand out. Again, I'm not bragging, this will make sense later when I get to my point.

So I finished my groceries and went across to a flower shop where this older woman and young girl around my age were working. I've seen the younger girl there before, she's beautiful. First I walked passed without approaching but then came back and manned up.

I went into the store and first approached the older worker, and kinda tongue in cheek asked if the other girl was her daughter, and then asked if she had a boyfriend in a light-hearted way. She wasn't her daughter and she was single.. I was certain I could get a number! So I made my way over to the gorgeous chick and exchanged names with a hand shake. I should drop this in too: I was pretty nervous but I somewhat kept my cool. But it turned out, she appeared even more nervous. Something this sub has reinforced before.. the girl will, a lot of the time, be even more nervous than you! Anyways, I went for the number pretty much straight away without any conversation first. Rookie error.. I sparked no interest and made her feel nothing for me. She replied kinda nervously with "Um I kinda don't think I should ...". Survey says no. Game over. I left with my tail tucked between my legs.

Anyway! key takeaways I can share with you:

1: I'm attractive, but that's not enough. It doesn't matter how attractive you are, if you can't spit a little bit of game, then most of the time you'll be screwed.

2: Girls get nervous too, even the hot ones.

3: It felt better to fail then to not try at all. Regret is a horrible feeling.

Anyways, I'm hitting the club tonight so it's no big deal. The approach didn't decrease my self worth, I felt better about myself. Also I feel empowered by leaping out of my comfort zone.

Thanks Seddit :)
