So here's the deal.

I meet a girl at a party that's with her beta male friend that likes her. I ask him in private if they're together, he says no. Then I decide to go for her. I sit next to her, start talking to her for a while and when I sensed that we're comfortable I stroke her legs a bit. I did not get any freaking out reaction so I started kissing her. We spent all night together making out etc. We didn't sleep together that night, but I got what I thought was a date with her for another day.

The day before she tells me that she doesn't want a boyfriend and she hopes that this wouldn't be a date. She said she hope to be friends. I reply that I am not looking for a serious relationship but just to have fun, but I'm not looking for platonic friends. She says that she just wants to be friends for now and maybe have sex in the future. I say no ty. Then a few days later (after I had been ignoring her) she messages me saying she is ok with having fun together and basically being some sort of fuckbuddies.

Anyways I've been sick all of these days so we weren't able to hang out. A common friend that talked to her was asked by her if I am clingy and a crybaby and said she doesn't want that because her ex was like that. He assures her that I am not. Now we are meeting up soon (going to club and then my place) and we have mostly not be talking all this time (more than a week), except a few small text conversations (I probably initiated two thirds of them and I know its my fault).

Conclusions: What I realized from my first time is that women need to be ignored a bit and you shouldn't try that hard. You should be interested and nice one time and then ignore for a few days. Also that in the beginning confidence is key. I am not the best looking guy but that night I acted incredibly confident.

Question: I am treading in unchartered waters about the future though. Do I keep being as indifferent as possible? How do I know what she wants ? (I would personally like to be friends with benefits or even more, not just fuckbuddies cause I'd like to spend some non-sexual time with her). In general, how do you keep a woman interested if you have basically managed to agree to have sex with you?
