I've posted here in the past about myself but it was more negative and I was dwelling on things that were frustrating me. Instead, this will be about the improvements I've made for myself and trying to be more positive in general. When I turned 25 I was really disappointed in myself and wanted to change. Hell, I never kissed a girl and had never gotten laid. Everything else in my life has been good. Soon I'm going to have 2 degrees and be applying for good jobs in my career.
I'm not going to bore anyone with a huge backstory but I will say that the biggest problems with me being successful with girls in the past were being introverted, not showing more positive emotions, not approaching, becoming too attached with certain girls, and not putting myself in the right social situations to meet girls.
When I was 22 I gained a ton of weight. I was in great shape from playing lots of sports in high school but I was really skinny and weighed 140 pounds. At 22 I became lazy and ate a lot of junk food and at my peak weight I was 204 pounds. That still sounds crazy to me. I started working out more and eating healthier and 3 years later I lost 40 pounds. Instead of saying I couldn't do it, I turned it into positive thoughts and changed my body for the better and feel much more confident around women. I don't consider myself unattractive but I feel like I could have been much more successful if I just had more confidence in myself.
I know you can't be choosy when picking a school to go for grad school, but I had the opportunity to go to the biggest school in my state and my #1 choice. I could of stayed in my comfort zone and enrolled at a local school but I knew I needed change. I made friends with some guys that were a little younger than me, but we still clicked pretty well and my social circle continued to grow.
Things are improving and I am doing things that I've never done and things are happening to me that have never happened before. I was at the bar one night and a girl walks by me and says hello and I start a short conversation and then asked her to dance. She agrees and leads me to the dance floor. We dance for a bit and we make out and she gives me her number. Another time at the bar this drunk girl comes up and says hello. She puts her arms around me and we start making out. I know she was drunk but it gave me great confidence about maybe girls don't view me as unattractive after all. There are multiple times where I've danced with girls at parties as well.
I still have never been on a date yet but I have asked girls out. Most of the time when I meet a girl I like I soon find out she has a boyfriend. Some of these girls are still flirty with me though and a couple have given me their number. I've asked out 4 girls so far this school year but I'm going to keep on asking different girls I meet.
I am trying Tinder out as well. I tried Tinder Plus which helped I think. I've got over 200 over a period of 3 months. I usually don't message girls that much but I've been doing it more lately and I've got a few numbers.
Overall I'm much better than I was before and I still want to improve. The biggest thing is just staying positive and not thinking negative thoughts. I've come a long way and I'm still not where I want to be but I am doing much better and wanted to share.
Edit: 200 matches on Tinder is not in the same area. It's over a few months while while changing locations on Tinder Plus to see what will happen.
