Need advice on how to make conversations more "fun"

I know you're probably concerned that girls say "I want a guy who makes me laugh", when girls say that they don't mean that they want a guy who tells jokes. When a girl likes a guy and there's a lot of sexual tension then she'll laugh to release that tension even if what you're saying isn't funny. That's what she wants when she says "a guy who makes me laugh".

So instead of trying to make conversations more 'fun' by telling jokes, make them more fun by increasing sexual tension.

Talk about pop culture, rag on her for liking certain shows and make cold reads on her preferences, eg "I can't believe you said you like Game of Thrones but watch Pretty Little Liars, I didn't have you pegged as that type of girl"

Make yourself laugh and have your own fun, you don't need to try and make her laugh.

If you're having fun, she will too if she's compatible with you.

I feel like asking pointless questions can lighten the mood. Something like "pancakes or waffles?" You can go anywhere from there. If she says pancakes, "oh thank god, if you said waffles i would've killed you." If she says waffles, "i don't think I can talk to you anymore." or vice versa. Keep it light.
