I know these are posted all the time, but I am glad I listened to it.
I was in a relationship with a girl I was way too into. We had no shared interested, we didn't get along, but for some reason I wanted it so bad I kept trying to patch a hole too deep to fix. Thing is, even when in the relationship I was still outgoing and talked to girls all the time. No intent, just talking. I was being social, no flirting, but just being myself.
After this girl finally ended it (something I should have done a long time ago) I was devastated. I thought what we had was perfect (deep down I knew I didn't) and I realized how many missed chances I had. Luckily for me, this girls boss pointed out that her employee had a huge crush on me. I had been talking to this girl at a mall that I work at, and looking back on our conversations, we have a lot in common. We both want similar things in a relationship and we are all around a lot more compatible than me and my ex were
Now I am not saying this is going to blossom into anything, we just started dating. But it made me realize I wasn't that into my ex and made me realize all of our issues. It made me get over her completely.
Who knows, this could blossom into something, it may not. But either way I kept being myself and meeting new people and after a devastating (at the time) breakup, it helped me recover.
I'm not saying be super flirty with girls while you are in a relationship, I am just saying don't stop meeting people and be yourself. It helped me out and it can open a lot of doors for you.
I wrote this on my phone, I apologize for any bad formation got grammar
