I’ve been putting effort into dating for a few years, and in the past few months I’ve had a lot more success. Here’s one dating mistake I still make: don’t ever assume you are guaranteed something without effort.

Every little step of growing a relationship with someone is something you both have to be enthusiastic about, from the beginning stages to the end (or so I’ve heard - “never stop dating your wife”).

For instance:

She smiled at you - smile back and start taking/flirting or it’s over

She gave you her number/you matched on tinder - make her excited to meet up with you over text or it’s over

You’re on a first date - make her excited to be around you or it’s over and no second date

She came back to your place - keep the vibe going and make her excited to be with you or it’s over

You’re literally having sex - make sure she’s into it or it’s over

You get the point. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking these are all little victories, but in reality each step of the way can be the last step if you stop paying attention to what she’s feeling. Don’t assume getting her number means more than it does
