As we all know, women on dating sites get so much attention from men, so my approach is always to give them plenty of 'shit tests' so it feels less like I'm the one being interviewed.
I decided to trial something with a girl I've been texting a little who wants to meet me.
I texted her at about 11am and I said something like, "good news. I've decided to progress you to the next stage and give you a telephone interview at lunchtime today."
She was keen and found it funny.
I called her for over half an hour and all light hearted asked her if she was sitting comfortably- then progressed into questioning her. The conversation flowed very naturally.
At the end of it she asked me, "so have I answered your questions to your satisfaction, can we meet on Friday?"
It was a great opportunity to have playful flirting and banter. I said with a great deal of humming and hawing, "yes you have done fairly well. I'm now happy to progress this to the next stage."
I think this is interesting because psychologically as a result of the scenario she was seeking validation from me a couple of times during the call and obviously enjoyed that it was a 'telephone interview' - she handled it well and asked me questions too, giving me an opportunity to be interesting and funny etc. We were able to build a good rapport and screen each other, probably saving time and helping to work out if there's chemistry.
Now when I see her I can continue to make jokey references to progressing her to the next stage if she impresses me- keeping the mood a little bit sexual and like she needs to be performing to my satisfaction.
It's also no doubt a real differentiator against other men who might be messaging her, showing I'm confident, but also playful.
Anyway just thought I would share. It's worth trying out if there's a girl you're talking to online and you want to escalate things above texting or be a bit different to build interest.
