I find this to be a very interesting phrase.

Thinking critically about human behavior in modern society, it seems as though desire somehow has gotten intertwined with need, rather than want. This is MANY people, I'm not trying to generalize that all women are doing this. It is possible to strongly desire someone on a passionate level and not need them as an essential factor of maintaining your well being. There is no pursuit without desire. What sense would it make to go after potential partners who you only marginally want? And on the other hand, why go through the trouble of making one's self so desirable only to coldly keep everyone at a distance? In either case, no one really benefits, because putting up fronts is detrimental to human connection (obviously).

I'd like to know you folks' perspectives and experiences in regard to this.
