Old school game was very insistent about opening girls in bars 'over-the-shoulder' in a kind of aloof way

What do you recommend for night game?

I tend to do the Julien thing. I also tend to get instantly rejected 90% of the time, or at least a reaction from a girl who seems uncomfortable/nervous/shocked etc. Maybe it's too much 'pressure' for these UK girls as we don't tend to talk to strangers here like they do in the US (obviously that's only one of hundreds of possibilities, though)

So I might try opening over the shoulder tomorrow night instead.

Any thoughts on this, and on opening in general and tips to avoid getting that 'weirded out' initial reaction? (which I feel has an impact on the rest of the interaction, making it even more of an uphill fight)
