For a little backstory, I posted this about a year ago.

Basically, I live in Hawaii and while we have a population of over a million, we have a very closed, small-town environment where "everyone knows everyone." Don't believe me? One day while day gaming, I got a girl's number, got another girl's number two hours later, and through a mutual friend, found out that they were best friends. I obviously got neither of them; that must have been a fun conversation. Just imagine a town of ~2,000 where you are from and that's how it feels here.

Now my question is, how do I gain outcome independence as well as not racking up a reputation in these closed environments? Just remember that unlike most of you, I can't just drive to another town; I'm on an island. There has been so many times where I have gamed a girl, failed, and met them again through mutual friends or outings. Some suggestions for getting past it included:

  1. Tourist on Vacation - I generally like asians and I'm not particularly attracted to most white girls, but don't know enough Japanese to get past the language barrier for asians who don't speak English.

  2. Social Circle Game/Parties - This does work, but I feel like it is too slow. I want to actively do something. Not to mention greek-life is nonexistent at our universities.

Now there are two options left, clubs/bars and day game. The clubs/bars outside of Waikiki (main tourist area) are filled with regulars and college students. I don't really have any friends that enjoy going to clubs/bars on a regular basis and I'll admit, I am way too much of a pussy to go alone in a small town with all regulars. More and more, this has been brought up that I need to suck it up and go if I want to land a girl, despite the fact that I don't enjoy that scene at all. I don't even know how to order from a bar, I don't drink.

That leaves day game which I usually do at the malls. I always go direct with my approaches, but I've also read that going indirect will eliminate any potential reputation gains. It just feels weird because I feel like seddit has been swaying towards direct and that there isn't a lot of indirect advice on here anymore.

TLDR; looking for advice on gaming in a closed environment of ~2,000 people with the mindset of outcome independence, while avoiding a negative reputation.
