I'm (27m) currently on holiday in Bangkok, Thailand. The other day I made a cold approach in a Cafe. The girl showed eye contact plus a smile twice when I was in the cafe so the IOIs gave me the green light to approach.
I didn't use any of the corny openers like "heY thiS iS s0 rand0m bUt ur REallY cUte" or any super calculated Mystery Method but just naturally introduced myself and went from there. After a minute or two she offered me to sit down next to her and continue the conversation. Basically discussed what we do, our day etc. Normal stuff. She was a local Thai woman (I think probably mid to late 30s) with good English proficiency who was doing some laptop work at the time (rules her out as an escort or some golddigger). She was aware I was on holiday until the end of Feb. I ended up FTC'ing and leaving her my Line contact (similar app to Whatsapp in Asia).
Later that night I offer a late afternoon coffee+hangout for the next day and she agreed. We meet up at a quieter Cafe near a nice park before the sunsets. It went pretty well. Didn't really run out of conversation and it was fun. Although we didn't discuss our intentions or relationship status or anything dating related we ended up holding hands and arms around body naturally without resistance or hesitation, along with playful tickling and touch here and there. Decent IOIs there.
Didn't end up kissing except for the peck on cheek on departure.
Given the IOIs and no explicit opposition to anything I take a gamble with the proposition "Do you wanna come back to my hotel?" Idk if this is the right way to ask according to you guys but it worked for me once in Sydney before. She replies "What we gonna do there?" And I remain silent and give her a playful smile". She smiled and laughed but I can't remember what she said next but she declined the offer in her friendly own way, but I think she got the idea of what I wanted. I wasn't phased and didn't expect to see her again.
After the date, I do the respectful "Hey thanks for catching up, I had a good time." She replies "I had good time too, you're cute." The conversation continued abit about what I was doing that night (I was binging YT on my hotel TV) etc. The next day we chat about our day and I mention I explored a certain area and she says "You should've told me, I could've join you". Wasn't expecting that despite her rejecting my proposition.
I'm thinking now-
Is it worth going on another date/meet up again to see if it gets to the lay stage or at least some deeper intimacy?
She knows I'm not here for that long and I'm planning on travelling around Thailand even before I leave.
Despite being from a developing country in Thailand she isn't by any means poor. She owns her own business, is educated and worked in corporate jobs in her field and lives in her own apartment in nicer part of Bangkok that certainly isn't a poor or lower class.
What could be her intent? I mean, she happily held hands and had her arm around me without hesitation or resistance which is a positive Ioi towards intimacy. Surely she just isn't a REALLY nice person who hangs out with tourists blokes.
Any advice or theories to help a fellow comrade out?
