So I texted this girl from my school’s organization e-board.we’ve had tension before, lots of playful banter, laughing, the usual chemistry. She’s also tutored me a bit. Anyway, I was having a bad day mentally; my brain felt completely fried and I kept forgetting things during our session, which already made me feel like an idiot.

Even with that, we still laughed a lot, and by the end it felt like we were cool again. So later that night, I decided to text her something chill:

“Hey ___, I’m grabbing coffee later if you’re around, feel free to swing by.”

It wasn’t meant to be a date or anything ,I just wanted to hang out, even as friends. But she saw the message and never replied. Now I can’t stop thinking about it.

The part that’s stressing me out most is that she’s on the e-board, and everyone there talks. I’m worried word could spread, and that it’ll make the other members who were interested in me lose interest or think I’m being weird. I honestly just wanted to spend time with her as a friend, but now it feels like I shot myself in the foot.

My head literally hurts from caring about this so much. I know I’m overthinking, but how do you mentally reset when you feel like you’ve just fumbled something small but public like this?
