Your eyes are the windows into your soul. The are a reliable way to know if someone is hedging or just outright lying to you. Look it up. People who are liars cannot keep their eyes from moving around while doing it. When you cannot look at someone, they can know it. If on the other hand, they are just as busy lying as you are, you could detect that just as easily, but you are so busy being deceptive that the signs go right on past you. This guy is trying to know if you are leveling with him and being truthful. He hopes that you are.
