After watching this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpYWQRpxzQs > it's an hour long) video that was the subject of another post, I went to bed last night contemplating "the community" in a philosophical sense. Basically, the video goes on to explain the Matrix-like effect beta males go through when discovering this stuff (along with male/female dynamics and how females control culture), and it made me think: Why are there not tonnes more posts or discussion revolving around either severe depression or suicide in the community? What I mean by this is that finding the community is very much like the whole Matrix analogy; your eyes are opened, and you realize what you've believed for, say, 20 something years is entirely false, and the world operates on much more darwinistic (some might say negative) level far below what anyone could have imagined, and that if you manage to get the prerequisites, female attraction is entirely formulaic, and they will more then likely leave you the moment someone who exemplafies these qualities to a higher degree comes along.

In the Matrix ("Plato's Cave" in philosophy I believe), many people indoctrinated into one way of thinking or believing are so invested in it, that even if they did learn their world was fake, they'd still prefer it, or, not be able to handle the truth and suffer psychological problems. So, why do men who find this stuff have a largely positive reaction to discovering the world is far more darwinian then they originally believed.

It seems to me like Guys are coming from:

"Im a nice guy. Girls arlways go for bad boys. If I can just show her how nice and good I'd treat her, she'd definitely go for me instead. It hasn't worked so far, but just maybe..."

and find out...

"Woman are only attracted to A, B, and C. If you don't have, or aren't naturally A, B, or C, then you must become A, B, and C. It will be very difficult, cause a high degree of emotional and psychological pain, it will take years, and most of the men that begin the journey will probably fail."

Would produce a lot more negative stress then positive results? No?

In the Matrix, people are awakened, unplugged from the real world and realize that instead of the world seeming wrong and unfair culturally and politically, it's actually an inhospitable fucking wasteland where machines systematically genecide the human race. Likening the drastic difference between these two realities to the community, why do men have a largely positive response to this, instead of a negative one?

My only real explanation is that the depressed guys aren't the ones commenting; they leave. People don't like having their reality challenged, but, if you found this stuff, you are probably somewhat open to new ideas. That being said, the communities teachings are pretty drastic new ideas.

I've learned about this stuff since I was 17, and read every Ebook ever, and even listening to this guy speak last night, I was thinking "this shit is fucking grim...How is the community not making more guys fucked up then fixed?"
