I was watching Gattaca last week. For those unfamiliar, it’s a movie inspired by the book “A Brave New World”. It discusses the subject of genetic superiority through social and gene manipulation and whether a person’s success and leadership potential, to be alpha, beta, (or worse, delta, epsilon) can be determined by nothing but the makeup of their bodies and pre-disposition of their psyche. A discussion between two characters goes as follows: Character 1 asks “doesn’t anyone ever exceed their potential?”. Character 2 responds “No one exceeds their potential...”. Character 1 asks, “ and what if they do...?”. Character 2 responds, “Then we didn’t accurately gauge their potential in the first place”. This really stood out to me and put into words exactly what I’ve been thinking about people who get successful in this community. It seems to be like most the people who get high degrees of success, were already successful to begin with and those who do have some difficulty in their pasts, seem like they always had more than enough potential to be successful, life just threw them a bad hand for a while. I never see anyone whom actually came from nothing get success when everything about them suggests failure.
The community tends to approach the subject of “Can anyone get good?” and “Will game work for me?” with the default answer “yes...if you work hard, you will see the results”. I don’t necessarily think this is an honest answer. Although success means different things for everyone, I think it’s perfectly fair to make the statement that most guys know what kind of women they want to idealy attract and those are going to be the 8/9/10’s out of 10’s. In the same way someone born being 4’0” is never going to play in the NBA, regardless of effort, or someone who’s a 40 yrs old, high school drop out working a janitor gig is never going to work for NASA, I also think it’s fair to consider that a lot of people actually just don’t have the physical or mental faculties to be any good at being a leader, being a strong, dynamic individual, or attracting high quality members of the opposite sex.
If seduction is a skill, then doesn't that mean that some people are going to have much more potential than others, and, actually that quite a large portion are going to have very little potential...?
I’m aware most people’s first reaction is probably going to be to pass this off as negativity, or trying to validate negative beliefs, but I wouldn’t mind some feedback.
