A couple days ago, a buddy I hadn't seen for a while called me and invited me to go bowling with him and some girls. I said sure, even thought I knew that I'm a terrible bowler. Basically, while we were playing, I proceeded to bowl about 50-75% of any of the girls' scores. I wasn't really sure how to continue making myself look like the amog in this situation, so I threw out a few jokes (there's a mini golf place attached to the alley, and I said I would be winning if we were over there), and picked up the pitcher of beer for everybody. I felt like a few of the girls could have been interested, but I was at a loss for most of the night on how to deal with the fact that I was doing demonstrably worse than everyone else at the activity. What would the experts do in a situation where they were clearly at the bottom of the totem poll skill-wise, and still wanted to throw out some seduction?
