Proper response when date cancels last minute?

There isn’t much detail here on why they could be canceling. The best response is put the ball in her court and tell to let you know when is the best to reschedule. If she comes back to with a new time for the date she’s interested, if she doesn’t then move on.

You may be unreasonable in assuming that there is attraction. I've been cancelled on before like that, and I when I thought about it, I realized that the girl only said "yes" to the date in the first place because she was trying to be polite or non-confrontational or something.

Instead being a chump whose time/gas has been wasted and then asking for more, if she ever does get back to you and proposes a date, tell her you're pretty busy and she has to come either right to your place for "wine on the patio" or a movie or whatever, or else she has to come to a bar/coffee shop that is literally on the same block as your place. And she should text you when she gets there. Make it clear even if you don't say it explicitly that you've got things to do and you're not going to have your time wasted by flaky girls.
