Like razqel basically said, bragging's a bit complicated.

First, you can easily brag about a ton of shit and still get laid. Guys have been doing it throughout history. I do it all the time. Most of the time, bragging isn't that big a deal.

However, you're possibly lowering your value every time you brag about some shit. Basically, the more you brag, the more the girl feels like you're just trying to get validation from her.

One way to deal with it: Instead of talking about "that time you saved a cat from a tree," tell the whole story surrounding it. Make something else the focus of the story. Maybe you're talking about the greatness of firemen or something. So you tell your story, with firemen as the focus, and then just as a fuckin sidenote, you mention the shit about saving a cat. Like it's an afterthought. That's generally how you want to talk about that shit. You don't want to make the focus of your story the fact that you're awesome. Make something else the focus, and just include that as a little side-story.

Try to do that with basically every topic that you'd brag about. The only time to be outwardly obvious and bragging about shit is when you're bragging about a quality of yours that people usually don't like. You can brag about boring shit that moves you (like videogames or whatever). Girls like it when you can show this other side of you.

Your other questions seems to be asking more about how to DHV without coming across as bragging. When a DHV is done overtly with the intent of impressing someone, it becomes bragging, which is unattractive. There's usually an end goal of trying to get someone to like you and fluffing your own ego. Bragging says to the people: I need external validation from others and full of self-importance.

The proper way to do a DHV is to communicate the inner qualities you value in yourself and others (e.g., honor, courage, generosity, kindness, adventurousness, ambition). Of course, there are external DHVs (e.g., wealth, social status, cool hobbies) which I won't go into. You want to communicate DHVs by embedding it into your communication.

You can DHV intentionally without making it obvious. One way to DHV is to use stories and examples from your past, such as telling someone the time you stood up for your friend, or went on an adventurous trip, or volunteered at a charity. There's no need to hide your good qualities or trying to accidentally slip them in. Seduction is about expressing your good qualities honestly and sincerely.
