keep it casual, meet her at the coffee shop... not a whole lot of background but I always keep the first date laid back so you can relax a bit more yourself and theres less opportunity for awkwardness.

If you're there first, get a table and read seddit on your phone or whatever, that's what I do. Don't stare at her as she walks in though.

If this is the asian dept store girl, I'd say meet at the coffee shop. She doesn't know you that well and would feel more comfortable that way.

Yeah, don't get too inquisitive on logistics - where her doctor's appointment is and all that. That's pushy, weak, and potentially creepy. Meet her at the coffeeshop, have a backup place to bounce to afterward if things go well. Dessert shop, live music venue, place for a walk, bar, whatever.
