Tell stories instead of just talk. Voice is noise and stories captivate.
Half of talking is listening. Don't wait till your turn to talk. Don't filter through your "how does this relate to me" question. Listen and hang on to every word, no matter how boring.
Be more congruent to people. Pick up cues on what they're interested in and go there early and often.
Have an opinion on everything. Don't just spiel out facts about the Beatles, have an opinion on how their music impacted an entire generation.

Take it as your responsibility as the man to always lead the conversation. Even if she provides the topics you can lead it in whatever direction you want. RSD has a few good videos on this. Try searching "never run out of things to say".

Other than that, lets say she says something like.. "I love to walk my dog in the park". In that one sentence you can talk about love, walking, dogs, and parks and anything you can think of related to above. Every sentence she says will be the same. Keep practicing picking up on these and youll be unstoppable in no time.

Ask questions. Ask thought provoking questions, questions that make them feel. Then off of those questions ask more questions. Eventually you won't need interrogate them and the information will pour out of their mouth.

Some examples; Are you currently going to school or working? School - Oh what are you studying? When did you first realize you wanted to major in blah blah blah? Work - What is a typical day for you at work? Do you enjoy where you are currently? If you could do anything what would it be?

Leanr the five W's; Who - What - Where - When -Why, and don't forget How (how did X happen). Think of it as a tree that continually branches out.
