Alright as a preface this is more about rejecting girls vs getting rejected

I'm not saying I reject girls all the time but it seems whenever I do it almost backfires on me, they typically get pretty upset and just start acting super disrespectful. I could very well be coming off as too "direct" and maybe a bit rude (honestly I try not to get to friendly with them), but even still I've had girls call me gay and just start calling me names and stuff.

I don't understand why it's happening seems like an unnecessary reaction imo but what do you guys think?
