Yeah, but it gets to you. I just arrived in college so I went to a few frat parties tonight and while we arrived late, I asked a bunch of girls to dance since it was a grind-fest and they all said no. I'm a fairly good looking guy in my opinion and I smiled and made eye contact, conversation was impossible because the music was too loud but I tried my best. Thought I did everything right. I just feel sorta shitty now.

Only thing I can think of is that the only girls still available not dancing by the time we got there were ones who weren't gonna dance the whole night because I didn't see the majority of them dancing with anyone else after/before I asked them. But anyways yeah, I just feel sub-par compared to these frat jocks who the girls seem to worship. Obviously I have competition considering these are juniors/seniors who have honed their game for years, meanwhile I'm just starting out but still, you know. Rejection can be hard to handle sometimes.

You can't let it get to you, man. That kind of stuff happens ALL THE TIME. I remember last time I was at a club, drunk and having a good time, asking girls to dance, I got rejected way more often than not. You should talk to the girls for a while first. Introduce yourself right off the bat and get to know her a bit, THEN ask her to dance. If it's too loud, go outside. Otherwise, I think really loud environments are bad for pickup because you're constantly yelling and she's always saying "WHAT?"

While I understand that getting rejected a bunch can suck, always remember that getting rejected is way better than regretting not talking to her. And it makes you give less of a fuck about rejection the next time because you think "hey, that wasn't so bad."

Ha. You can do EVERYTHING "right" and sometimes things just won't fall into place for you. Sorry. There's no such thing as a 100% success rate. What you HAVE to keep in mind is what the OP said. Next time you get rejected just repeat to yourself "it's not me. it's her. her loss." and then move on with your day.

Who gives a fuck about them? Comparing yourself to other people won't get you far.

When I was in college going to a frat house as a non-frat member was always a waste of time. They have built in status as it's their party, their house, and their friends. The music is blasting so you can't talk, and every dude who lives there has a bed that is literally just upstairs. I'm not saying it would be impossible, but I think you're at a distinct disadvantage trying to pick up in someone else's frat house. Because of all this, don't worry so much about getting blown out there. I honestly just started avoiding frat parties after my first year of school.

If you're just starting college, try your damndest to make a ton of friends and grow your social circle. Join some clubs that would have women in them. If you can't find a party through someone in your social circle, throw your own! Then you'll have all the advantages those guys had at the frat in your favor.
