Simple: Make it clear to them that you aren't in a committed relationship; you're still new to dating them and "feeling things out".

On the other hand, if you are telling them you are committed to them but lying (yet still being that boyfriendish sorta role), its going to take a ton of work to keep things going. At first its fun and exciting, but eventually it becomes an emotional drain... just enjoy the ride but be sure to get off at the top.
