There's a couple ways this can go. Yes or no.

If they say no, you're all set. You can repeat the effort, but for simplicity, youre done.

If they say yes theres generally two ways from here. You dictate your number to them and they enter it into their phone. Or they give you their phone for you to enter it yourself to some capacity. The latter being the better of the two.

If you get to the best choice. They're comfortable enough with YOU to touch their phone. To have some serious power in your hands. You enter your information into their phone.

Text or call yourself from their phone. Not only will you have their info, but you know yours is in there right. This reasonably has a psychological effect on them as well which we could get into, but that's digression.
