I've been to a few mediocre parties recently where someone threw on some funny Youtube video and next thing you know, it's one video after another. This would never happen, of course, if the party had sufficient positive momentum, but that's little consolation once you're stuck in the situation.

So... what techniques do ya'll have for correcting this kind of negative momentum? How should I go about leading an increasingly lame party back in a positive direction?
