I've been catching some flak for posts like this. I think it's the right thing to do and I think it is helpful to them, but I don't want to be "that guy", so let's get a consensus from the community and I'll abide by it.

I'd like to think that by now I've earned a reputation as a guy that, while inexperienced, is willing and able to offer decent feedback on a regular basis. I'm not just some ass on a power trip.

So why have I been on this mini-crusade? Because I think DW was spot on with his post. The guys that come in here asking forward-looking advice about a single girl are almost always newbies who haven't done much reading yet and they tend to have very bad frames. I think we owe it to them to fix their frames first and foremost.

Think about it... why does a guy ask a forward-looking question about a single girl? It's because he's worried about "messing up his chance" with her, presumably because he doesn't think he'll have similar chances often. That's a scarcity frame and he's never going to get anywhere until he sheds it.

A guy with a solid abundance frame is going to run his game, unconcerned with the outcome, and analyze it after the fact. I think we're doing a newbie a disservice if we don't help him understand that.

Perhaps there's a better way to go about it. Perhaps I'm dead wrong. What say you?

Edit: Ok, it sounds like most are saying that it's an important message, but it needs to be packaged in a softer way, so as not to discourage newbies and stifle discussion. Is that a fair summary?
