Google translate. I don't do pick up much, but a while back I tried to talk to a couple of south american girls. Turned out they did not speak any english. Having a brainwave i pulled out my phone. It was fun. I typed something in, then they typed something in. You end up using lots of body language to convey things and laughing at misunderstandings. And you don't have to have a smart conversation as its hard enough to communicate anything. Just asking where someone is from becomes fun.

Well I can honestly say that I also have a language barrier while trying to talk in English since I'm a native Portuguese speaker.

However School didn't teach me anything. What I know so far I've learned while playing games and actually talking with native English speakers to improve my English in both typing and speaking. I've been doing this method since I'm 15/16 years old, if I'm not mistaken, and I'm still learning.

Funny fact, while talking, the word I use the most is "hum" cause I'm thinking about how to say stuff in English when I have them in my head in Portuguese.

People say that games sometimes are not a good influence in our life, I totally disagree since it's thanks to them that I'm learning and perfecting my knowledge in a foreign language than my own.
