Generally, actually always would be the better term, the reason for the insecurity that you feel when it comes to social interaction is that you feel that you have to come up with something to say that is appropriate. It is this mental filter that is holding back spontaneity, that must be surpassed. You surpass it by becoming aware of the reason for the insecurity, the reason is that you constantly want something from other people. Whether it is attention from a girl, acknowledgement from your peers or security from a boss, when you eliminate this need, you can be yourself, and just say whatever comes to mind. Even though your mental filter will fight you on this, it is the very definition of charm and that which separates you from the ones who have such an easy time meeting new people. It requires practice and it stems from fear, but thats a whole other story.

Don't panic everyone is different and there are just as many women out there who don't like over confidant males as there are many confident males you speak off.

I'm an introvert but have been with thousands (literally) of women and I can guarantee you that if you struggle to connect and click with women at a party then your best chances are to focus on the ladies that seem similiar to you and are also the quieter ones at the party.

If you head to a party or a bar just look for the quieter women that don't want to be centre of attention and you'll do just fine. Plus these are the easy ones to then invite outside for a quiet drink or to get some air as the chances are they will value some 1on1 time anyhoos making it easy for you to grab their number and invite them out on a date.

I'm sure you have skills that seem natural from someone else's perspective. It's a murky combination of nature and nurture. Their relaxed attitude is definitely part of it, but it's also that they, consciously or not, learned this stuff at a young age. None of that should bother you--in many cases, it's more effective in the long run to build up your skills in a intentional way.
