I've always maintained, better to be cocky than not at all confident. Not a terrible line actually. Maybe say it more jokingly next and when she calls you a jerk, say Haha I'm just busting you but seriously I know this cool joint I'd love to check it out with you what are you doing Saturday. Keep being confident, like I said, better to be thought cocky than nice guy boring. Sometimes I find myself crossing the line, but the more you become aware of people the better you'll be able to read what's too cocky and what's just confidence.

"Oh well lucky you, looks like you're going to go out with me" I wouldn't have said it quite like that. Something more like "Well than, I suppose we'll just have to go out. Why don't we (insert first date activity here, be specific)." EDIT: I believe the line between cocky and confident comes down to small things like humor, Cocky fuckers cant make fun of themselves, Confident ones do it all the time. It's always good to start with something simple (lunch at a park?), and safe. 1st dates are all abut safety, so when the game is afoot I try to have an idea of what the date will be, where, and what we can do if it goes well(sometimes, lunch turns into brewery hopping or something). My Goal is to get her laughing, I find that girls(and women, more specifically) tend to be more natural when they are laughing and having fun, Less of that model citizen, innocent, Public face thing goes on.

Yea, I think you're fine bro. Indeed it's a fine line, but I presume you said it kinda jokingly. I've used that one and it seemed to work. Also depends on the kind of girl I suppose. I got this one chick who I'm actually a kind of jerk to and she seems to really dig it, she's like a 9 so I guess she's used to guys acting like a little doggy around her. So yea, I guess it kind of depends on the girl as well, but as long as you're still going on a date with her there's nothing wrong man.

No, it's definitely not that.

The biggest problem here is that you are being presumptuous/pushy. Most women want to have control over their own lives.

Now yeah, you're going to run into some women (usually less attractive ones) who love guys to dominate and control them, but it's mainly because they see this kind of thing happening to other women and they get insecure that it never happens to them.
