Should I let her friends come?

I always flat out say no to bringing her friends. It is her I want to meet. I think bringing her friends will ruin my chances of getting close to the girl.

I think it's a shit test, or the girl is being nervous.

Couple of things here:

If she's nervous, why would you be a dick about her asking to bring friends that would help make her comfortable and readier to open up?
Why would you pass up the resource of her friends? They can give valuable information about the girl, in the things they say and do.
Of course nothing is going to escalate past a certain point with her friends there. THAT'S THE POINT. She isn't ready for that, clearly. So you wouldn't be getting it right away even if her friends weren't there.
You're passing up the chance to get in good with her friends, which will help you with the girl.

I've just always said no, and a new girl just asked me again. Have you tried saying yes? Do you recommend it?

If you say no, you're basically shooting yourself in the foot and making things more difficult. I've never said no to this request, because allowing her to get comfortable is the best strategy. Unless you really like the girl shutting things down every time you escalate. I prefer it when the girl is escalating. Which you will only get (in non-psycho girls) if they are comfortable.

Years ago, I was asked by different girls if they can bring one friend, and I brought one as a wing. It worked well. Often it was a phone from a 2 minute set (restroom line in a cafe or something).

You probably didn't build enough comfort.
