I am, by my own admission, a newbie. I can be good in conversation one-on-one, but overall socially awkward in large groups, the result of being too self-conscious and isolated for too long even as I bloomed into a young man. But at 24 years old, even the excuse of looking young / baby faced for my age are becoming tired excuses. Last night I just threw myself into crowded, noisy bars and social situations, even if I spend most of the time just chilling and only had conversations with a couple girls, at least I am trying.

On RSD, for hard case newbies, they say that you genuinely have to excited about whatever progress you make. Last night I talked to a completely random girl and she said it was nice meeting you before we parted ways. So high fucking five on myself, that is more the some guys can do and I have to savor that shit.

But in the background what I am doing is observing people - the loud obnoxious guy hitting on her too hard, the nervous dude pretending to text on his phone (which has been me in the past), the dude trying to get with two girls, the girl who is looking for attention, the girl who wants to be left alone.

It is humiliating admitting I am the newbie, but its that same shit that is going to drive me to keep going out, keep trying, keep mingling, and eventually get good at this.

I think for maybe the first few months even, I should forget about game and just get out there and have fun, then slowly start working in approaches. Girls WANT guys to talk to them, you just have to ...not be weird.
