Last night I went to a fraternity rush event. There was one girl(H) who was a dime, that had a few very sexy tattoos. Both of H's friends were surrounding her for a majority of the night and not really socializing. I figured I would have to open a group which I am totally fine with. When I found myself directly infront of H I asked her what her tattoo was. I like this opener because I am genuinely interested in peoples tattoos and the meanings. Once I opened one friend turned and walked away and the second friend stood there as we talked. Turns out her tattoo was not finish it was just an eye and she wanted to turn it into a Hamsa. I love Hamsas. I firmly believe the Hamsa saved my life. Excitingly I ask if they want to hear a cool story about a Hamsa. H was with it but her friend didn't respond. So I moved closer to H and away from her friend. (H's back was to her friend) we begin talking. After about 40 seconds her friend moves position right next to me and says " hi I am S". It was sassy, it was firm, and deep down it was a jealous introduction. This is the moment I want to talk about.

--Was that as clear of an IoI as they come? Was S into me? Had my target have been S was that texboom approach? Boom, Hook line and sink her, S is mine?

--Was S putting up her defense? Trying to "protect" her friend? Almost testing me to see if I was "trying to get" at her friend. Did I pass a test, or was H so hooked her friends defense didn't work?

--Should I have then turned my focus to S and leave H on the back burner? Would that have been push and pull? Should I have adapted to the situation and change target Or did I handle this correctly?

I introduced my self to S and then H, followed by strong eye contact with H and continue our conversation. Within a few seconds it was just me and H again. We talked a little bit longer but she everynow and then looked distracted. I decided I was there that night to meet the fraternity guys and even if I left with that dime it would have done me no good in the long haul. I told H I would catch up with her later and went on with my night.

Don't forget your ABC's always be closing. I did not number close H. No excuse there. Shit happens and we learn from it.
