Casual is fine. Just wearing clean clothes and looking normal is fine. Dressing up is unneccessary. Good personal hygeine and being well groomed is the important part of appearance.

That being said, there is a whole subsection of the game that focuses on flair. I have seen people wear 10 watches on their arm, get a mowhawk, wear feather shit on their shoulders, goth themselves out, candy necklaces, lol.

It's called peacock theory. I never tried it myself but I have seen it used to a person's advantage before. The ridiculousness of it gets people to open you. It's pretty much a dead art as far as I know though. Haven't seen people do that in a long time.

If you just want to develop a personal style that is non casual for yourself though without going full peacock, that is fine too

I usually wear collared shirts because they're super comfortable and look nice to everyone. Invest in a cotton polo, ralph lauren or nautica or something

If the jeans and hoodie fit your body well and is attractive, nothing wrong with it.

I think it definitely matters. It's like easy points you can score. If you have amazing game then I'm sure you could pick up girls wearing a plastic bag (it might actually be easier) but girls definitely take notice of what you wear so why not give the best impression possible.

Also fit is more important then anything.

The way you dress definitely matters dude. The way you dress is the way you choose to present yourself and that is very important to many if not all woman. At the end of the day, IT CAN ONLY HELP! There's no woman that will ever say or think "Hey, he's too well dressed so I'm gonna stay away from him". If you can increase your chances of success with woman and better impressions, why not give it a shot? The best part is you don't necessarily need to dress fancy or proper or spend a shit ton of money on clothes. As long as you're somewhat fashionable and hip, you're already doing better. If you're on a budget, I'd recommend shopping and improving your wardrobe via inexpensive yet fashionable stores such as H&M and Zara.
