I had a moment of clarity today about qualification. I'm trying to steadily improve my game all the time and really try to focus on different areas. But when I focus sometimes on doing one thing too much, I just end up fucking it up. Today, I realized that I accidentally made a girl qualify herself to me. Boy did that moment of realization feel good. Here is the story:

I was on the bus today and I opened this cute Asian-American girl by commenting on her cherry-blossom earrings. It was slow to start but our conversation got rolling as I threaded it along through all sorts of topics from lawyers to zombies. Turns out she is really cool and the conversation was truly a pleasure for both of us.

Eventually we started talking about careers and I asked her a question rather bluntly, "Did you go to college?" Normally I wouldn't ask this question like that because it sounds pretty rude, but boy did it have an affect. She immediately started acting very bashful and started talking about her college and defending her choice as a marketing major. I could feel the whole nature of the conversation immediately change as she started qualifying herself to me. It was like a light bulb turned on in my head and I knew exactly what was going on. She was looking to me for value. I know this will change the dynamic of many interactions I have with women from now on. I never would have realized what had happened without this community. Thank you.

In the end this is a tame story. No # close, no K-close. Just a smile close and a nice conversation, which is all I really wanted.
